For root touch-up, you would mix one part Wella colorcharm lightener with two parts 20 volume developer and apply it to the new growth, ensuring not to overlap with previously lightened hair. You would then mix one part Wella colorcharm lightener with two parts 10 volume developer and apply it to the mid-length and ends before rinsing and shampooing. For first-time lightening, you would divide the hair into four sections, securing with a clip, and apply the lightener to each section while processing for 20 minutes. Finally, you would apply the lightener to the roots and process until achieving a light pale blonde before shampooing and conditioning.

The second step is to tone the hair using one part Wella colorcharm toner T18 with two parts 20 volume developer. You would apply it from roots to ends and process for 15 minutes before rinsing, shampooing, and conditioning.

The final effect is to style the hair as desired.
